DESCRIPTION

Dick Motz was the first New Zealand Test bowler to take 100 Test wickets.

He was inducted into the NZ Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.

Dave Renneberg swapped the cap when he toured NZ in 1969-70 with an Australian XI, the season that Dick retired for first class cricket.

The cap in excellent condition was made by Kaiapoi in New Zealand and is sized 7 1/8th. Slight stain and tear on inside back of cap.

Dick took exactly 100 wickets in 32 tests. During his era of playing for NZ, 1961-1969 the side achived just 4 wins in those 32 matches. As a lower order slogger he achived three test 50s. He was one of Wisden's Cricketers of the Year in 1966.

Dick passed away in 2007.
