Preen took a wicket in each innings RB Simpson in the 1st and RE Briggs in the 2nd. Comes with a statement from the vendor. Ray Lindwall was approached about exchanging state caps by Harry Price but Ray Lindwall agreed but not asking for WA cap so he gave NSW cap without payment of charge. During the Saturday session the Duke of Edinburgh made a surprise visit to the ground and was introduced to each player. A truly great privilege. So Lindwall's cap is a part of History and is 61 years old.
.Ray Lindwall played 1st class cricket for NSW from 1941/42 until 1953/54. In fact this was his final game for NSW. He played for QLD from 1954/55 until retirement in 1959/60. Ray was a celebrated NSW and Australian cricketer. he also played first Grade rugby league for St. George playing in the 1932 Grand Final, with his brother Jack.
