A Australian Wallaby Rugby Union Jersey. Gold cotton with white collar and green plastic number to verso. By Harworth of Glen Iris Melbourne. Number 12 worn by Richard Marks who played 7 matches on the tour in NZ with John Thornett's side, including the 2nd and 3rd Tests. These being his first two tests played. Marks played a total of 17 tests finishing in 1967. The jersey has the cross stitching on the shoulder saddle as was the case with these early 1960s Melbourne made jumpers. Some of these have worn away. It has a tear 5 x 7cm near number and some stitching has come away under an arm and at collar. 1962 was the first year the Wallabies wore gold at home and was the first year it was their permeant jersey colour.
